Textbooks
and Courses
Regular college textbooks or books
written by great men of God are used by the college in most
courses offered. Study guides and other materials are
provided to aid the student in making an in-depth analysis
of the subject material in each chapter of the text. Some
courses include study guides, some chapter analysis, and in
some cases, cassette tapes are provided.
Special course completion options can be
made available for those who have special needs. Contact the
college office if you would like more information.
All courses offered in ESL Bible College
External Degree program are designed to be equivalent to
resident work. However, correspondence work requires much
more discipline and self motivation to complete.
Completing
a Course
External Degree studies are different
than the classroom. In the classroom one studies several
courses at a time. In our program we prefer that the student
complete one or two courses at a time and then move on to
another course until the entire program is completed.
We suggest that the student endeavor to
complete two two-hour courses each month. At this pace the
student studying by correspondence can complete the same
amount of materials at home as the student in a classroom.
Slow students are allowed to work at their own pace. ESL
Bible College does request that the slow student contact the
school at least each 30 days and give a report of his
progress.
Should the student fail to contact the
school and no communication is received over a period of six
months, the student will be placed on an inactive list and a
fee will be required to reactivate one’s file. Failure to
communicate with the school does not relieve the student
from making his or her monthly tuition payments.
Withdrawal
Procedure
If a student desires to withdraw from the
college or drop a program of study, it must be done within
15 days after receiving the course materials. The student
should call the college and notify the school of his or her
intentions, get approval, and then return the packet of
materials. If this procedure is followed, all moneys paid to
the college will be returned except the application/
evaluation fee and the registration fee. If a student
withdraws without notification of the college president or
executive vice-president, or if the withdrawal is requested
after the 15 days have expired no refund will be made.
Preparing
Lessons and Mailing
ESL Bible College requests of all
students that they present all lesson materials to the
grading office prepared and written on 8 1/2 x 11 inch
paper, written only on one side. The school prefers that all
lessons be typewritten. If it is not possible to type out
the work then the student may submit it handwritten provided
that all work is neat and readable.
All work submitted to the school should
contain the students name, course title and address. The
student is asked to make a copy of all his work in case the
work is lost in mailing. When answering a question on the
study guide or from the text, the student should include the
question on his own paper and under each question write the
answer. Each page should be numbered.
The student must pay the postage on all
lessons sent to the school for grading and provide a return
envelope with the proper postage for returning the graded
material. Insufficient postage will be charged to the
student’s account and must be reimbursed by the student.
All completed lessons should be mailed in to the college
office as soon as completed.
